Kibbe Body Types
The Kibbe body type system helps you understand which silhouettes, fabrics, and clothing styles naturally harmonize with your unique bone structure and body composition.
What is the Kibbe Body Type System?
Developed by image consultant David Kibbe in the 1980s, this system goes beyond traditional body shape classifications (like hourglass, pear, or apple) to consider the balance of yin and yang in your physical features.
Yin features are rounded, soft, and delicate - think curved lines, full lips, rounded cheeks, and softer body curves. Yang features are angular, sharp, and elongated - think prominent bone structure, angular jaw, straight lines, and lean musculature.
Everyone has a unique combination of yin and yang characteristics. The Kibbe system identifies your dominant pattern to help you choose clothes that honor your natural lines rather than fighting against them.

How We Determine Your Kibbe Type
Finding your Kibbe body type involves analyzing several aspects of your physical appearance. Our AI considers:
Bone Structure
The length and width of your bones, the sharpness or softness of your features, and your overall vertical line.
Body Flesh
How your body flesh sits on your frame - whether it's firm, soft, or somewhere in between.
Facial Features
The shape of your face, eyes, nose, lips, and cheeks, and whether they lean yin or yang.
Overall Balance
How all your features work together and your dominant impression - sharp, soft, or balanced.
Why Traditional Body Shapes Don't Tell the Whole Story
Two people might both be "pear-shaped" but have completely different Kibbe types based on their bone structure and feature sharpness. That's why clothes that flatter one pear may not flatter another. The Kibbe system goes deeper to explain why.
